Sunam, July 3:- The 26th death anniversary of the former Punjab Minister, late Babu Bhagwan Das Arora, was observed today with devotion and respect at Guru Nanak Dev Dental College, Sunam Udham Singh Wala. On this occasion, the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was performed, followed by a Kirtan Darbar after the prayers. A free dental and medical camp was also organized to serve the public. A large number of prominent personalities from political, religious, social, and educational fields participated in the event to offer floral tributes to the late Babu Bhagwan Das Arora.
On this occasion, Aam Aadmi Party's Punjab unit in-charge and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, said that it is because of the selfless public service, simplicity, honesty, and dedication towards society shown by the late Babu Bhagwan Das Arora that even after 26 years, people remember him with the same respect. He added that AAP's Punjab President and Cabinet Minister, Mr. Aman Arora, is carrying forward the legacy of public service with full dedication, following in his father's ideals.
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Mr. Kultar Singh Sandhwan, stated that a person’s true identity is determined by their deeds, and the late Babu Bhagwan Das Arora dedicated his entire life to public welfare. He said that parents who instill values of service, truth, and honesty in their children ensure they live on in society forever. He appreciated the Arora family for consistently maintaining this tradition of public service.
Lok Sabha Member, Malvinder Singh Kang, said that late Babu Bhagwan Das Arora was not just a politician but an institution in himself, who made development and social service the purpose of his life. He noted that the establishment of Guru Nanak Dev Dental College in 1996 was a testament to his vision, the benefits of which are being reaped by thousands of students serving in India and abroad today.
Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, while paying tribute, said that his life remained dedicated to social service and public welfare. He remarked that the ideals of such great personalities always continue to provide the right direction to society.
Expressing gratitude to the gathered personalities and the congregation, Cabinet Minister and AAP Punjab President, Mr. Aman Arora, said that even though his father has been gone for 26 years, his ideals, thoughts, and blessings continue to inspire the family. He stated that the objective of establishing Guru Nanak Dev Dental College was not to earn profits, but to provide higher education to the youth of the Malwa region and better health facilities to the people. Thousands of students who received education from this institution are now serving across the globe, which is a living testament to the late Babu Bhagwan Das Arora’s vision and commitment to society.
Cabinet Minister Advocate Barinder Kumar Goyal said his relationship with the late Babu Bhagwan Das Arora was not just political but familial. He noted that Mr. Aman Arora is diligently carrying forward the values of public service and honesty instilled by his father, thereby realizing his father's ideals.
Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, MLAs Narinder Kaur Bharaj, Davinderjeet Singh Laddi Dhos, Balkar Singh Sidhu, Kulwant Singh Pandori, Chetan Singh Jouramajra, Ashok Parashar Pappi, Madan Lal Bagga, and District Planning Committee Chairman Gurmel Singh Gharachon, along with a large number of religious, social, and political figures were present.
