Karnal, December 30: The year 2025 has proven to be a year that farmers in Haryana will likely never forget. This year has been etched in history as a symbol of farmers' struggle, suffering, and economic exploitation. Ratan Mann, the state president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, alleged that scams worth thousands of crores of rupees in paddy, millet, and moong crops in 2025 broke the backs of farmers, while the government and political parties remained silent spectators.
Ratan Mann said that the paddy scam is so large and organized that it has surpassed all previous major scams. Thousands of crores of rupees were looted in the name of the farmers' hard-earned crops. This not only caused huge losses to the farmers but also severely damaged the government exchequer. Every day, new revelations are coming to light from every district, exposing the horrific scale of this scam.
He said that the economic exploitation of farmers in 2025 was unprecedented. Farmers did not receive the full value for their crops, there were massive irregularities in payments, and the indifference of government policies forced farmers to shed tears.

Farmers' Pain Not Heard in the Assembly:
The farmer leader raised serious questions about the recently concluded Haryana Assembly session. He said that both the ruling party and the opposition proved to be complete failures on this issue. Leaders of all parties were present during the assembly session. It was hoped that the opposition would strongly raise this scam and that Chief Minister Nayab Saini himself would address the matter in the House.
But unfortunately, neither side uttered a single word about this scam. Ratan Mann questioned why the government is silent despite such a massive scam? How did all this happen right under the Chief Minister's nose, and why has no one been held accountable yet?

Millet and Moong Also Victims of Loot:
Ratan Mann clarified that the matter is not limited to paddy alone. It also includes scams related to millet and moong. Farmers have been cheated in the name of every crop. The truth is unfolding layer by layer in every district, but those responsible remain silent.
He said, “If the farmers hadn't grown the crops, this looting wouldn't have been possible. This scam happened because of our hard work and our produce.  To put it simply, farmers have been robbed, and those who robbed them are sitting comfortably in their homes.”

Now, it's a fight to the finish:
Ratan Mann appealed to the farmers, saying that the time for silence is over. This is the time to think, to stand firm, to fight, and to agitate. Meetings must be held in every village to determine how all this happened and what strategy should be adopted against it.
He warned that the political and social consequences of the suffering inflicted on farmers in 2025 will be severe. Those who are ignoring the plight of the farmers will have to answer for it.

Hopes shattered, now we must become our own support:
The farmer leader also expressed pessimism regarding the coming year. He said that if the government couldn't settle accounts with the farmers in 2025, what can be expected from 2026? Looking at the current situation, it doesn't seem like the new year will bring any good news for the farmers.
Finally, Ratan Mann said that now farmers will have to build their own strength. There is not much hope left from the government. Farmers will have to organize themselves and fight for their rights.
