Jaito, November 27:- Under the guidelines of Dr. Pragya Jain, SSP Faridkot, strict action is being taken against bad and mischievous elements as per the policy of "Zero Tolerance". Under this, Faridkot Police has solved a sensitive case of rupture of the sacred body of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by 02 women during a mutual dispute in village Jalaleana in just a few hours and arrested both the accused women.
This information was shared by Mr. Sanjeev Kumir DSP (Sub-Division) Kotkapura. The arrested women have been identified as Kuldeep Kaur wife of Jugraj Singh and Veeran Kaur wife of Harpal Singh, both of whom are residents of village Jalaleana (District Faridkot).
Sharing the details of the action, he said that Faridkot Police had received information that in village Jalaleana, 02 women of the same village, Kuldeep Kaur and Veeran Kaur, entered the Gurdwara Sahib while arguing in the office and hit Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji with their hands, due to which the Rumala Sahib of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the Khalsa arrow lying on it fell to the ground below.
During which 05 sacred parts of Shri Guru Granth Sahib were torn. In this regard, on the basis of the statement of Jagwinder Singh present in the Gurdwara Sahib, a case number 233 dated 26.11.2025 under Section 299, 3(5) BNS Police Station Sadar Kotkapura was registered against the concerned women. During which, taking immediate and effective action by the police teams, both the accused women, Kuldeep Kaur and Veeran Kaur, were arrested in a few hours.
During the initial interrogation of these two women, it came to light that this incident happened unintentionally while swearing in anger during a heated argument between the two women over a personal issue. DSP Kotkapura said that since the matter was sensitive, extra seriousness was taken from the beginning and both the women were arrested and further action has been initiated as per the legal process.
The two accused women are now in the custody of Faridkot Police and the investigation of the case is ongoing. They will be produced before the honorable court and remanded so that further interrogation can be conducted. Faridkot Police is continuously taking action against the bad elements and is discharging its responsibility with complete honesty and determination. So that no person dares to hurt religious sentiments or disturb social peace and harmony.
