Ferozepur:- In Ferozepur, BSF and Punjab Police have successfully recovered 2 kg 264 grams of heroin from village Kilche. During this, a drug smuggler Sukhwinder Singh has been arrested, while his accomplice Rajveer alias Tari managed to escape from the spot. A case has been registered in this regard and further action has been initiated.
According to the information received, during this operation led by BSF Assistant Commandant Rajesh Kumar, a raid was conducted in village Kilche on the information about the presence of suspicious persons. The police party reached the spot and arrested Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of village Kilche, Sadar police station, Ferozepur. On searching the accused Sukhwinder Singh, two packets of 2 kg 264 grams of heroin were recovered from him. Meanwhile, another accused Rajveer alias Tari, a resident of village Kilche, who was present at the spot at the time of the incident, managed to escape on seeing the police. His arrest is yet to be made and police teams are conducting raids in search of him. Giving information in this regard, SHO Sadar Ferozepur Sukhbir Singh said that accused Sukhwinder Singh will be produced in court. He said that the absconding accused Rajveer alias Tari will be arrested soon and he will also be questioned about where this huge consignment was to be supplied. The police said that this heroin seems to be a part of international level smuggling and some more people may be involved in this case. The police are also collecting information about other members of this gang. Accused Sukhwinder Singh has been involved in a drug smuggling case before and cases have been registered against him before.
