Una, December 16: Under the Public Distribution System, 1,43,951 ration card holders in the district are being benefited through 326 fair price shops. This information was given by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar today while presiding over the quarterly review meeting of the Public Distribution System held in his chamber. He informed that Una district includes 84,283 consumers in the APL category, 18,790 in the BPL category, 9977 under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana, and 30,901 primary households. He informed that the KYC of all ration card holders in Una district has been completed.
The ADC informed that from October to December 2025, 48,954 quintals of wheat flour, 29,981 quintals of rice, 4000 quintals of sugar, 760 quintals of salt, 2015 quintals of gram dal, 1631 quintals of masoor dal, 2181 quintals of urad dal, 5,73,048 liters of mustard oil and 32,860 liters of refined oil have been distributed in the district.
He informed that from October to December 2025, 696 inspections were conducted by the Food Supply Department in the district and Rs. 14,969 were deposited in the government treasury under various departmental orders. During this period, 16 inspections were conducted under the Himachal Pradesh Trade Accounts Order 1981 for irregularities found under various control orders, and action was taken in 2 cases for various irregularities, imposing a fine of Rs. 969.
In addition, 22 shopkeepers and traders were fined Rs. 11,000 for using polythene. Furthermore, 21 inspections were conducted under the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order 2000, and action was taken in 3 cases, imposing a fine of Rs. 3,000. In addition, ten brick kilns in the district were inspected under the Himachal Pradesh Bricks Control Order, 1970.
On this occasion, District Council Chairperson Neelam Kumari, District Controller Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs Una Rajiv Sharma, and officers from the concerned departments were present.
