Nawanshahr: The 12th death anniversary of the region's eminent social worker, the late Baba Naubat Rai Ji, was observed with simplicity and reverence under the leadership of Doaba Seva Samiti President Dr. Jaswinder Singh and General Secretary Ratan Kumar Jain. During a program held at the meeting hall of Raja Hospital, members paid floral tributes to Baba Naubat Rai Ji. Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Ratan Kumar Jain, Parvesh Kumar, Kamal Kumar Aneja, Master Husan Lal, Ashok Sharma, retired Bank Manager Gurdeep Singh Hafizabadi, and Gurmeet Ram paid homage by recalling his service to the region and the guidance he provided to the Doaba Seva Samiti. On this occasion, it was decided to continue the successful service projects initiated by Baba Naubat Rai Ji.
Dr. Jaswinder Singh, head of Doaba Seva Samiti, announced that in collaboration with the Dr. Kabul Singh Welfare Trust, two beds would be reserved at Raja Hospital in memory of Baba Naubat Rai Ji. These beds will be available for the treatment of needy patients at highly concessional rates.
The members expressed regret that even 12 years after his passing, no memorial has been built for Baba Naubat Rai Ji, who dedicated 65 years of his life to the service of the people. Social worker Ratan Kumar Jain stated that his contribution to the field of social service can never be forgotten.
He emphasized that a memorial should be established to inspire the younger generation to engage in social work, and he vowed to make every possible effort to achieve this. The program concluded with a two-minute silence as a tribute to Baba Ji.
