Hoshiarpur: "With the aim of attracting youth in villages towards sports, nurturing their sporting talent, and promoting physical fitness, a significant and positive change will be brought about in the infrastructure of sports grounds in the Chabbewal assembly constituency with the release of ?11.18 crore. This will help in honing the sporting talent of the youth." These views were expressed by Chabbewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar on the occasion of laying the foundation stone for development works at the sports grounds in Jandoli and Soona villages.
He informed that funds for these development works have been released and tenders have also been allotted, so the work will begin soon. A sum of ?39.22 lakh has been sanctioned for the improvement of the football tournament ground in Jandoli, while ?22.73 lakh has been approved for the development works of the sports ground in Soona village.
MLA Dr. Ishank also participated in the football tournament held in Jandoli, encouraged the players, and honored the participating teams. The villagers welcomed the information given by their MLA and expressed confidence that better sports facilities will provide better opportunities for their youth to excel in the field of sports.
