Karnal, July 24:- Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma stated that the voter verification process—part of the special intensive revision campaign for the voter list being conducted in the district in accordance with the Election Commission of India's directives—has been 100% completed.
He informed that a total of 1,181 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) carried out the door-to-door verification work across the district's five assembly constituencies: Nilokheri, Indri, Karnal, Gharaunda, and Assandh. A total of 1,225,661 voters were verified in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that during the verification, 211,171 voters were identified whose forms could not be collected. Among these, 53,511 voters were deceased, 46,640 were absent, and 95,344 had permanently relocated to other places. Additionally, 2,728 cases were recorded under other categories, and 12,948 voters were found to be already enrolled (duplicate entries).
Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma said that the objective of the special intensive revision campaign is to make the voter list more transparent and error-free, ensuring that every eligible citizen's name is included and ineligible names are removed in accordance with the rules.
Appreciating all Assembly Returning Officers, Booth Level Officers, and concerned officials and staff, he remarked that with everyone's cooperation, this important task was successfully completed within the stipulated timeframe. Now, based on the data obtained, further necessary action will be taken in accordance with the Election Commission's guidelines.
