Karnal, October 30: Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh stated that 10 lakh 1 thousand 755 metric tons of paddy has arrived in various mandis of the district so far, of which 668636 metric tons have been purchased by the Food Supply Department, 201228 by HAFED, and 131891 metric tons by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation. Government procurement agencies have been ordered to ensure timely lifting of paddy from the mandis.
He stated that government procurement agencies have been instructed to purchase crops at the minimum support prices set by the government, ensuring that farmers do not face any difficulties. Adequate gunny bags should be made available in the mandis and paddy should be lifted on time. Additionally, there should be no shortage of clean drinking water, accessible toilets, and cleanliness for the convenience of farmers.
Manage crop residues properly:
Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh appealed to farmers to come to the market only when their turn comes so that their crops can be purchased on time. He urged farmers not to set stubble on fire in their fields. This not only contributes to pollution but also reduces the fertility of the land. They should also avoid burning crop residues and manage them properly.
