Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 17 February:- Mohali Police has successfully solved the case of robbery committed on 12-02-2026 by three unidentified accused who, posing as police officials by installing red/blue flasher lights on a Hyundai Alcazar car, intercepted a truck/trolley loaded with iron rods near Landran Chowk. The accused took the driver and conductor hostage and fled with the truck/trolley and iron rods. Police have arrested 03 accused and recovered the looted truck/trolley along with the iron rods.
Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Mr. Saurav Jindal shared that on 12-02-2026, based on the statement of Ashok Yadav son of Jai Kishan Yadav, resident of House No. 03, Royal City, Jassran Road, Gali No. 03, Mandi Gobindgarh, District Fatehgarh Sahib, FIR No. 41 dated 12-02-2026 under Sections 309(4), 3(5) Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Police Station Sohana against 03 unidentified accused.
He further stated that Ashok Yadav had been driving Tata 4018, registration number PB32-P-4757, white color, 18-tyre vehicle belonging to his maternal uncle Sunder Yadav for the past 2 years. On 11-02-2026 at about 10:00 pm, he along with his conductor Anil son of Kedar Sahani had loaded approximately 35 tons of iron rods from Mandi Gobindgarh to Kharar. Near Landran Chowk, on 12-02-2026 at about 03:00 am, while checking the vehicle parked on the roadside, a white vehicle stopped near them, which had police-type flashing lights installed inside the windshield.
Three persons were inside the vehicle and demanded documents. Believing them to be from the Regional Transport Office, they handed over their documents for checking. The accused then forced both of them into their vehicle, and one of them drove away the truck/trolley along with the iron rods.
To trace the accused and recover the robbed truck/trolley and iron rods, Harmandeep Singh Hans, Senior Superintendent of Police, District S.A.S. Nagar, assigned the task to C.I.A. Staff under the supervision of Talwinder Singh, Superintendent of Police (Operations), and Rajan Parminder Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Investigation). The C.I.A. Staff team traced the accused through human intelligence and technical methods and arrested them on 14-02-2026 near Village Majat.
Details of accused:
1. Accused Narendra Singh alias Moni alias Kala son of Late Gurnam Singh, resident of Village Majatri, Police Station Sadar Kharar, District S.A.S. Nagar, aged about 38 years, 10th pass and married. He has 06 cases registered against him in District Mohali, District Sangrur and District Fatehgarh Sahib related to cheating, drug trafficking and fighting.
2. Accused Harvinder Singh alias Mintu son of Sukhveer Singh, resident of Village Majri Kishnewali, Police Station Amloh, District Fatehgarh Sahib, aged about 37 years, 10+2 pass and married. One case of illegal liquor is registered against him at Police Station Sadar Patiala.
3. Accused Arvinder Singh alias Raja son of Sukhcharan Singh, resident of Ward No. 03, Maghi Colony Amloh, Police Station Amloh, District Fatehgarh Sahib, aged about 41 years, B.Com graduate and married.
Recovery details:
Vehicle PB23-AA-0073, Hyundai Alcazar, white color.
Robbed 18-tyre truck/trolley.
35 tons of iron rods worth approximately 20 lakh rupees.
All three accused are under 3 days police remand.
