
Haryana will become a new hub of eco-tourism with proposed forest safari in Aravalli-Rao Narbir Singh.
Chandigarh, August 20- Haryana Environment, Forest and Wildlife Minister Mr. Rao Narbir Singh said that the proposed forest safari project in Aravalli region is a special initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The global tender process will be completed by preparing the feasibility and detail plan report in the next two months so that work on the project can start soon. The aim of this initiative is not only to promote eco-tourism but also to conserve biodiversity and generate employment for the local people.

Minister Mr. Rao Narbir Singh was chairing a review meeting with the officials of the Forest Department in Chandigarh today. In the meeting, Life Science Education Trust gave a presentation on the project. Additional Chief Secretary of the department, Mr. Anand Mohan Sharan, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and other officers were present in the meeting.
Aravalli Green Wall - An environmental effort spread across four states -
Sri Rao Narbir Singh said that Aravalli is the oldest mountain range in India which is spread across four states including Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Delhi and covers an area of 1.15 million hectares. The Central Government has entrusted Haryana with the responsibility of Aravalli Green Wall Project and Jungle Safari which will prove to be a milestone from an environmental point of view.
Inspiration being taken with projects like Nagpur and Jamnagar -
The Minister said that this project was earlier under the Tourism Department but now as per the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Nahib Singh Saini, its responsibility has been entrusted to the Forest Department. He said that he himself has visited Gorewara Safari in Nagpur and Vantarapriyaojana in Gujarat. The Haryana government aims to inaugurate this mega project with the blessings of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Proposed in 10 thousand acres in Gurugram and Nuh-
It was informed in the meeting that the Aravalli Safari project is proposed in an area of about 10 thousand acres spread over Gurugram and Nuh districts. It is planned to start it in about two and a half thousand acres in the first phase. The project will be developed as per the rules of the Central Zonal Authority and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Employment will be provided with environmental benefits-
Aravalli Green Wall project will ensure plantation of indigenous species, improvement of soil health, recharge of groundwater and conservation of biodiversity. This will strengthen the environment of the state and provide green employment opportunities to the local youth like Van Mitra Yojana.
Inspired by the vision of the Prime Minister-
Rao Narbir Singh said that this project is inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He appealed to the people of the state to take a pledge towards the protection and conservation of wildlife, as the Prime Minister had also mentioned in the Mann Di Baat program.
