
Farmers were made aware about paddy straw management by Krishi Vigyan Kendra.

At the beginning of the camp, PAU Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hoshiarpur, in-charge Dr. Maninder Singh Bance welcomed the farmers present and shared information about the extension activities of the center related to farmer welfare.
He said that like previous years, this time also, various extension activities are being carried out by Krishi Vigyan Kendra in the form of a campaign. He also made the farmers aware about the losses caused by burning paddy straw and collectively motivated them to make this campaign a success. He said that machinery banks related to stubble management have been formed in the block and farmers should use the stubble management related machinery jointly so that full benefit can be taken from it.
On this occasion, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering) PAU Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dr. Ajaib Singh shared detailed technical information about the importance of various elements present in stubble, paddy stubble management through agricultural machinery, use of paddy stubble in mushroom production, energy, mulch and cow dung gas plant and use as animal feed.
In this awareness camp, progressive farmers of village Bhilowal Ranbir Singh, Sukhjot Singh, Balwinder Singh, Nirvair Singh, Simranjit Singh Narinder Singh and other farmers were also present.
Winter vegetable kits and agricultural literature were also made available for the convenience of the farmers present. Finally, Sardar Sukhjot Singh thanked the experts and farmers who came and assured them of spreading the message of stubble management to other farmers.
