Chandigarh , August 15 - The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great joy and patriotic fervor in the entire state today. Various programs were organized in all districts and subdivisions under the theme of Har Ghar Tricolor and in which the parade salute was taken by the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Ministers of Haryana Vidhan Sabha as the chief guests . They extended their greetings to the people on the occasion of Independence Day . During this, as soon as the national flag was hoisted in the ceremony, the atmosphere echoed with the slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram . Cultural programs , patriotic songs , poems and drama performances were held on this occasion . The atmosphere was colored in the colors of patriotism with the processions and decorations of the tricolor across the state .
In a ceremony held in Panipat, Haryana Legislative Assembly Speaker Mr. Harvinder Kalyan said that today is a day of emotions for crores of Indians , which reminds us that countless heroes of Mother India sacrificed their lives and liberated us from oppression . On April 22 , 2025 , terrorists killed innocent people in Pahalgam and destroyed the vermilion of our sisters . Our army went to the soil of Pakistan and destroyed the bases of terrorism .
In a function held in Yumnanagar, Haryana Energy , Transport and Labour Minister Shri Anil Vij reiterated the concept of a developed India and said that the Haryana Government has taken unique steps towards strengthening the four pillars of a developed India-youth, food earners , women and the poor, as mentioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi . Our double engine government is moving forward with a clear roadmap of a developed Haryana by the year 2047 with the concept of a developed India to take Haryana to new heights .
In a function held in Kurukshetra, Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar said that the land of Haryana has been a leader not only in agriculture but also in bravery . The pages of history bear witness to this sacred land that on May 10, 1857 , the spark of the freedom movement rose from Ambala and with this spark, the dawn of freedom dawned in the entire country . To preserve the memories of this first spark, the state government is constructing a magnificent monument in Ambala Cantt .
In a function held in Rewari, Haryana Industries , Commerce and Forest Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, through our army, carried out Operation Sindoor and went to Pakistan and destroyed 9 bases of terrorism . Not only this, through Operation Mahadev, our security forces eliminated the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack .
In a ceremony held in Kaithal, Haryana Education Minister Mr. Mahipal Dhanda said that the Central and Haryana governments, including the Prime Minister of the country Mr. Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister of Haryana Mr. Naib Singh Saini, are engaged in building the India of the dreams of the martyrs . All citizens should contribute to making India strong , self-reliant and a leader in the world and take a resolution that no matter what the challenges , we will remain steadfast in protecting the dignity of our country , its integrity and its independence . This resolution , this action , this sacrifice will be the highest tribute from us to our noble martyrs .
In a program held in Narnaul, Mahendragarh, Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Mr. Vipul Goyal said that today is not just a date , it is a symbol of the feelings of hundreds of millions of Indians . This day reminds us of the sacrifices of those countless heroes who gave freedom to the country .
In a program organized in Sonipat, the state's Minister for Cooperation , Jails , Elections , Heritage and Tourism, Dr. Arvind Sharma said that today the whole of India is tricolor , every street , every house is painted in the color of the tricolor and there is an echo of patriotism in every corner . The tricolor is a living symbol of our history , struggle and dreams . Today we also pay tribute to those known and unknown martyrs , who sacrificed their lives to protect the unity and integrity of India before and after independence .

After Operation Sindoor, another decisive action was taken under Operation Mahadev . Under which our brave security forces eliminated our terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack .
At a function held in Fatehabad, the state's Minister for Public Health and Engineering and Public Works Department, Mr. Ranbir Gangwa, said that today is not just a calendar date, but a day of emotions for hundreds of millions of Indians , which reminds us that countless heroes of Mother India sacrificed their lives to give us freedom .
At a function held in Hisar, Haryana's Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antondaya, Shri Krishna Kumar Bedi said that our soldiers deployed on the country's borders have upheld the glory of the tricolor even in adverse circumstances and it is because of their sacrifice and dedication that we all are breathing in the open air .
Speaking at a function held in Panchkula, Haryana Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Shruti Chaudhary said that in the last 11 years, the country has reached new heights under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi . India's economy is moving towards the third position in the world, which was at the 11th position in the year 2014 .
In a program organized in Nuh, the state's Health , Medical Education and Research and AYUSH Minister Aarti Singh Rao said that under the vision of the Prime Minister, crores of Indians have been empowered through various schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Ujjwala , Ayushman Bharat , PM Awas Yojana , PM Surya Ghar Yojana , PM Garib Bhalai .
Haryana Minister of State for Food , Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Printing and Stationery ( Independent Charge) Shri Rajesh Nagar said that countless heroes of Mother India gave us freedom by sacrificing their lives . Therefore, 15th August is not a date , but a day of sentiment of crores of Indians . Our brave soldiers have maintained the glory of the tricolor even in hostile situations on the country's borders , thanks to whom we are breathing in the open air today .
In a ceremony held in Faridabad, Haryana's Minister of State for Defence, Shri Gaurav Gautam said that today we have been blessed with the sacrifice of countless heroes of Mother India , for which we will always be indebted to the heroes . The tricolor is a symbol of our history , struggle and dreams . Whenever the enemy has tried to harm the identity of India , then the soldiers of our country have done the work of giving a befitting reply to the enemy .
