Chandigarh, September 24 - Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini arrived as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 74th All India Police Wrestling Competitions at the Madhuban Police Academy on Wednesday. On this occasion, he said that this competition has been organized on the auspicious day of culture, Navratras, which is a matter of happiness.

Sports provide good health and also teach team spirit, mutual cooperation and discipline. He congratulated the participants and winning players.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that it is a matter of great happiness that 1474 players from 34 teams showed their strength in this competition organized on the land of Haryana, the powerhouse of sports. The players got an opportunity to show their skills and capabilities in the competition. This will be very helpful in the coordination of the police forces. He said that a good sportsman is also a good soldier. Those players who play with discipline, team spirit and mutual cooperation, become soldiers and perform their duty more efficiently. Sports and police have become complementary to each other. This will also prove effective in maintaining the fitness of the police personnel.
Aim to establish India as a sports superpower in the 2036 Olympics
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the Prime Minister, seeing the importance of fitness, said that those who are fit are successful in every field. To realize this, he started the Fit India campaign from 2019. Now Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has set a target of establishing India as a sports superpower in the 2036 Olympic Games. He has expressed his desire to organize these games in India.
Haryana Police has given many talented players
The Chief Minister said that the personnel of Haryana Police have not only performed the duty of security well, but have also given the country many talented players. Such players have increased the honor and pride of the country. Haryana Police has made a commendable contribution in creating an encouraging atmosphere for sports in the state. Haryana Police players have brought glory to the state by winning Padma Shri, Khel Ratna, Major Dhyan Chand, Arjun, Dronacharya awards. Wrestling is the sport of Haryana. The strong wrestlers here perform well with full morale.
Vision developed for sports
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the present government had developed a vision for sports about 11 years ago. This vision is - to connect every child, every youth with sports and give them an opportunity who has a passion for sports, to build a playground in every village. The goal of this vision is to make Haryana the sports capital of India. The government has modernized the sports infrastructure. In the year 2015, the Haryana Sports and Physical Fitness Policy was implemented. With this policy, the youth's inclination towards sports has increased. So they are performing well at the national and international levels. The government has started the Sports Nursery Scheme. At present, there are one thousand 489 sports nurseries in the state in which 37 thousand 225 players are undergoing training. Haryana has made the Best Sportsmen Service Rules 2021. Under this, 550 new posts were created. 224 players were given government jobs. Reservation was provided for players in direct recruitment of posts from category one to four. 15 thousand 634 players were provided with sports equipment.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced that recruitment will be done soon in Haryana Police under sports quota. He honored the winning players.
Experience will come in handy in reaching heights in the future too - DGP
On this occasion, Haryana Police Director General Shatrujit Kapoor congratulated the medal winning players and said that they will continue this tradition in the future too. They will bring such experience from the soil of Haryana which will be helpful in reaching heights in the future. He said that in these games, the players not only got the opportunity to display their skills and abilities, but also got information about each other's lifestyle, food, language etc.
This strengthens national unity. Haryana Police has successfully organized 19 All India Sports Competitions so far.
CGESF players win 40 medals
The DGP said that in the All India Police Wrestling Competitions, CISF players have won 13 gold, 9 silver and 18 bronze medals (total 40). UP players have won 12 gold, 15 silver, 19 bronze and ITBP players have won 9 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals. Haryana players are also bringing glory to India at the international level. The state government is encouraging players at every level. On this occasion, Vidhu Shekhar IPS, representative of All India Police Sports Control Board, also expressed his views.
In the women's 53 kg free style competition held before the Chief Minister at the closing ceremony, CISF's Rajni won the first place and won the gold medal, UP Police's Hemalta won the silver medal, similarly in the men's 125 kg Bharat category (free style), Haryana's Mausam Khatri won the first place and won the gold medal and Jammu and Kashmir's Ishaq Mohammad won the silver medal. In the women's category, the bronze medal went to Priyanti and Nirmala and in the men's category, Mohit and Bharat Chaudhary won. Local MLA Jagmohan Anand, Haryana Police Academy Director Ashwinder Singh Chawla, IG OP Narwal, BJP District President Praveen Lather etc. were present on the occasion. The students of DAV Police Public School presented Haryanvi dance.
