Paigam-E-Jagat Garhshankar;- Overloaded tipper trucks and unnumbered trolleys carrying stubble and straw, roaming the streets of Garhshankar, are causing trouble for pedestrians and schoolchildren. Satish Kumar Soni, Founder President of Adarsh Social Welfare Society Punjab, expressed this view during a press conference.
He said that for the past decade and a half, a serious problem in Garhshankar town has been a thorn in the side of the residents, and it remains unresolved due to the blessings of political masters. It's been observed that for the past decade and a half, whether it's the overloaded straw trolleys from Saila Khurd Quantum Paper Mill or the mining tippers, they've made life difficult for the residents of the area.
They roam around like unruly death without registration plates. They have no fear of the administration; sometimes it seems as if there's no such thing as an administration in Garhshankar.
Various social organizations in the area have staged protests and submitted memorandums to the local administration to resolve this problem. However, after a few days of timely action, the problem returns to an even more severe form. Many innocent people have lost their lives in road accidents on Nangal Road and Hoshiarpur Road. Due to the long morning traffic jams, school buses face significant difficulties in transporting children and office-bound employees to their destinations.
In light of these problems, Satish Kumar Soni, president of the Adarsh Social Welfare Society, urged the state government and local administration through the press to curb the life-threatening speeds of these overloaded tippers and trolleys. Their entry into the city should be banned, to protect residents from the problems they cause, the increasing pollution and road accidents.
