*Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the ongoing campaign to update Aadhaar card*

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, June 20, 2025: Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Geetika Singh has appealed to those who have not updated their Aadhaar cadre for the last 10 years to get their Aadhaar cards updated immediately. While reviewing the ongoing campaign to update Aadhaar cards in the district today, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that it is necessary to correct the identity and address in the Aadhaar card within 10 years.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, June 20, 2025: Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Geetika Singh has appealed to those who have not updated their Aadhaar cadre for the last 10 years to get their Aadhaar cards updated immediately. While reviewing the ongoing campaign to update Aadhaar cards in the district today, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that it is necessary to correct the identity and address in the Aadhaar card within 10 years.
Therefore, those who have got Aadhaar cards made before the year 2015, it is necessary for them to get their Aadhaar cards updated. They have been requested to get their Aadhaar updated at the nearest Aadhaar center or through the online portal https://uidai.gov.in.
He said that this new campaign has been launched by the government to make Aadhaar more robust and secure. Under this, documents related to Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) are being updated.
He also stressed on the importance of registering mobile number with Aadhaar so that various Aadhaar related services can be easily availed through https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in or mAadhaar mobile application.
The ADC said that special enrolment camps will be organized at local delivery hospitals, nursing homes, vaccination centres and Anganwadi centres to facilitate Aadhaar enrolment for children below five years of age. Besides, it is mandatory for children to update their biometrics on attaining the age of 5 and 15 years.
This is an important process which verifies the veracity and authenticity of Aadhaar data, if not done, the Aadhaar of these children is closed on attaining the age of 7 and 17 years. Besides, the District Education Officers will prepare a roster of children aged five to seven years and above fifteen years for regular holding of mandatory Aadhaar update camps.
The ADC appealed to the district residents to ensure updating of their Aadhaar details so that there is seamless access to government and financial services. He said that this service is being provided at all the service centres and camps being organised in the villages.
He said that the fee for updating Aadhaar is Rs 50 but the fee has been waived till June 14, 2026 for online update. He has laid special emphasis on enrolment of children in the age group of 0-5 years for Aadhaar cards. Similarly, he has also asked to complete the mandatory biometric update for children in the age group of 5 to 15 years.
