
Employees should not recommend reduction in election duty: District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner
Nawanshahr - District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Mr. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa IAS has said that elections are the foundation of democracy and doing duty in elections is a proud act of participating in strengthening the democracy of our great country. Therefore, the employees whose duty is involved in the election process should perform this duty diligently, democratically, with true honesty and full impartiality as part of their government job and should not approach their office to deduct duty.

Therefore, the employees whose duty is involved in the election process should perform this duty diligently, democratically, with true honesty and full impartiality as part of their government job and should not approach their office to deduct duty. He said that neglecting election duty is considered a serious lapse in the service rules of an employee, so no one should be absent from election duty. He said that the duties of any employees will not be cut under any circumstances.
Additional District Election Officer cum Additional Deputy Commissioner(s) Rajeev Verma asked the employees posted on election duty to ensure that they do their duty with full honesty and diligence. Apart from this, no employee should approach his office to reduce duty. He said that if an employee is found neglecting his duty, an FIR under Section 134 and departmental rules will be conducted against him.
