Una, December 21 - A meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma regarding preparation of electoral roll for Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee elections. He informed that in view of SGPC elections, registration of Sikh voters will be done from December 18 to January 12, 2024. He said that from January 13 to 31, 2024, the initial publication of the handwritten (manuscript) manual will be prepared and its printing and maintenance will be done.

He informed that in view of SGPC elections, registration of Sikh voters will be done from December 18 to January 12, 2024. He said that from January 13 to 31, 2024, the initial publication of the handwritten (manuscript) manual will be prepared and its printing and maintenance will be done. He said that claims and objections related to the name, post and address published in the preliminary publication list or in case of an employee, his post and address can be submitted to the concerned revision authority by 1st February. He informed that from February 1 to 22, claims and objections will be filed and received under Rule 6(1) of the Sikh Gurdwara Board Election Rules, 1959. He informed that the claims/objections received from February 23 to March 2 will be settled. He said that from March 3 to March 15, 2024, the abbreviated rolls will be prepared for printing and the final publication of voter lists will be done on March 20.
He said that for registration, the age of the voter should be 21 years for which the cut-off date of eligibility will be 21.10.2023. Apart from this, it will be mandatory for the voter to submit self-attested copy of Aadhar Card and Voter ID Card, latest color passport size photograph along with Format 1 form.
Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma has appointed all the SDMs of the district as Revision Authority Officers. He said that Sikh voters who wish to create voter identity can fill their application Form 1 and submit it to the Patwari in rural areas and to the Executive Officer/Secretary of the Municipal Council in urban areas. He informed that related forms can be obtained soon from SDM office, Patwari, EO MC. He instructed the SDM to hold necessary meetings with the Gurdwara Management Committees so that the correct forms reach the voters.
SDM Bangana Manoj Kumar, SDM Haroli Vishal Sharma, SDM Gagret Shashi Pal Sharma, SDM Una Vishwa Mohan Dev Chauhan, District Panchayat Officer and other officers were present in the meeting.
