Nawanshahr- The road safety awareness walk was flagged off by the local "Road Safety Awareness Society" from in front of BDC Blood Centre by BLM Girls College Principal Mrs. Taranpreet Kaur Walia and Dr. Ajay Bagga. On this occasion, the volunteers of the college's NSS unit were carrying placards with awareness messages, umbrellas, banners and were wearing special radium jackets.
In the rally, the volunteers were giving messages about road safety rules, use of seat belts in four-wheelers, use of helmets while driving two-wheelers, following the distance rules on the roads, commitment to use indicators on time, proper use of front and rear lights.
On this occasion, Principal Taranpreet Kaur Walia, Madam Hardeep Kaur NSS Incharge, Dr. Ruby Bala, Madam Gurbhinder Kaur, Shri Omkar Singh, Prof. Nivedita, Dr. Gauri, Ajay Kumar, Dr. Aruna Pathak, G.S. Praveen Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, Subhash Chandra, Dilawar Singh, Sunil Dutt, Roshan Lal, Ram Lubhaya, Gobind Adhikari and Vikram Kumar from Nehru Yuva Kendra were present under the guidance of G.S. Toor, Harprabhmahal Singh, J.S. Gidda, Narinderpal Toor, Dilbag Singh, Mahinder Singh Doaba, Des Raj Bali, Vasdev Pradeshi, Surinder Chand DSP.
The volunteers were welcomed at the “Training Park” by G.S. Toor, J.S. Gidda, Narinderpal Toor, Surinder Kaur Toor, Dilbag Singh Retired DEO, Gobind Adhikari MTS Nehru Yuva Kendra and volunteer Vikram Kumar. Those who shared awareness messages and slogans on the occasion included G.S. Toor, J.S. Gidda, Dilbag Singh, Surinder Kaur Toor, Narinderpal and Gurdev Singh Sahota. On the occasion, students were given detailed information about road safety.
