8,000 bribe was caught red-handed by the vigilance

Patiala, November 8 - Punjab Vigilance Bureau under the campaign against corruption in the state PSPCL. Complainant Handling Boy (CHB) Kulwant Singh posted at office Patiala has been caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.8000.

Patiala, November 8 - Punjab Vigilance Bureau under the campaign against corruption in the state PSPCL. Complainant Handling Boy (CHB) Kulwant Singh posted at office Patiala has been caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.8000.
Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the said electricity worker has been arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by Jasvir Singh, a resident of village Soolar in Patiala district.
He further said that the complainant approached Vigilance Bureau Patiala Range and alleged that Junior Engineer Davinder Singh and the said CHB. Kulwant Singh is threatening him for exceeding the permissible limit of domestic electricity load and demanding a bribe of Rs 8,000 to avoid penalty in this regard. He further said that after the preliminary investigation of this complaint, the vigilance team of Patiala range laid a trap and arrested the said employee Kulwant Singh red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs. 8,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses.
In this regard, Davinder Singh JE. and Kulwant Singh CHB. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Patiala Range. The other co-accused J.E. will also be arrested soon and further action is on.
