Chandigarh: In today’s times, Nihang groups are often misunderstood and judged unfairly. However, a recent condolence gathering revealed a heartwarming and compassionate side of these warriors, led by Baba Lakhvir Singh Kumbhra.
The gathering was held in memory of a young man who had recently passed away. Baba Lakhvir Singh, who had known the family for many years, arrived with his Nihang Jatha and sat alongside the grieving family throughout the ceremony—offering silent support and heartfelt presence.
He was accompanied by Baba Simarjeet Singh Simmi, Baba Rajinder Singh Chawla, Baba Narinder Singh Chappadchiddi, Baba Atar Singh Khizrabad, Baba Bhupinder Singh Chappadchiddi, Baba Shaganpreet Singh Chappadchiddi, and Baba Narinder Singh Jujhar Nagar.
When journalist Harminder Singh Nagpal, who also had a long-standing association with the family, requested a group photograph with the family’s elder daughter Veena Rajput, Baba Ji graciously accepted and posed with his entire group for the picture.
The moment left a lasting impression on all attendees, reminding everyone that Nihang Singhs are not only warriors, but also compassionate souls who stand by others in their time of sorrow.
