Una, October 6 – The Himachal government is providing financial assistance of ?1.50 lakh to eligible families from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes under the Golden Jubilee Shelter Scheme for the construction of permanent houses.
This assistance is provided only to those who have land registered in their name and whose annual income does not exceed ?50,000. Beneficiaries must submit their applications along with all necessary documents to the Tehsil Welfare Officer's office.
This information was provided by Purvi Kalamanch Jalgran Tabba, a theatre group affiliated with the Information and Public Relations Department. In the second phase of the awareness campaign, which began today (Monday), the theatre group raised awareness about various public welfare schemes through songs, music, and street plays in Balh Kholi and Tanoh villages under the Bangana subdivision.
The artists explained that the Golden Jubilee Shelter Scheme is fulfilling the dreams of poor families who, although they own land, are unable to build permanent homes due to limited resources. Villagers were also informed about topics such as the Chief Minister's Happiness Shelter Scheme, the Indira Gandhi Happiness Education Scheme, the Indira Gandhi Happiness Security Scheme, and drug prevention. Describing drug addiction as a serious social evil, the artists appealed to people to stay away from it and raise awareness about it in society.
It is noteworthy that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, is implementing various schemes and programs for the socio-economic upliftment of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. To disseminate these schemes to every village, a special public awareness campaign has been launched through cultural groups.
On this occasion, Balh Kholi's Deputy Pradhan Gorakh Ram, Gram Panchayat Tanoh's Pradhan Shakuntala Devi, ward members Anita Devi, Prakash Chand, Reena Devi, Manisha Rani, Madad Lal, and local villagers were present.
