Dussehra, a festival symbolizing the victory of good over evil, was celebrated with great pomp.

Paigam-E-Jagat October 2, Maur Mandi- Like every year, this year too, the festival of Dussehra, a symbol of the victory of good over evil, was celebrated with great pomp by Rama Natak Club at the ground of SD High School and by Sri Krishna Democratic Club at the ground of Khalsa High School. Today, there was a lot of activity in the city since morning and a Sobha Yatra was taken out in the afternoon. The 60-foot tall effigies of Ravana and Kumbhkaran remained the center of attraction in the Dussehra fair.

Famous Punjabi singer and actor Karamjit Anmol specially arrived at the Dussehra fair presented by Rama Natak Club. Congress leader and state president of Rashtriya Punjabi Mahasabha Maninder Singh Sekhon attended as the chief guest. Comedians Chacha Bishna and Jagjit Gabbar entertained the audience in the Dussehra Mela presented by Krishna Democratic Club. Senior Congress leader and former MLA Jeet Mahendra Singh Sidhu attended as the chief guest. A colorful program of dance Giddha and Bhangra was presented by school students in the Dussehra Mela. The police administration was fully prepared. Fire brigade vehicles and ambulance services were present to prevent any untoward incident. The sight of fireworks touching the sky in the Dussehra Mela was worth seeing.
