Giving information on this occasion, Civil Surgeon Patiala Dr. Jagpal Inder Singh said that due to the stressful life of people today, changes in eating and living habits and lack of awareness, heart diseases are increasing significantly. Now heart diseases are not a disease of old age, today's young generation is also becoming a victim of it.
He said that stress, diabetes, high blood pressure, consumption of tobacco products, obesity, consumption of junk food and high-fat foods, lack of physical activity, are many such reasons that affect our heart a lot. Giving information about the symptoms of heart diseases, he said that chest pain, swelling in the legs, occasional choking or shortness of breath etc. can be signs of heart disease. Therefore, patients with such symptoms should get their health checked immediately.
To avoid heart diseases and keep the heart healthy, one should consume healthy food, avoid junk food, reduce stress, give up smoking and consumption of tobacco products. Heart disease can be largely avoided by getting your sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol checked periodically.
