Patiala September 25:- A three-day special training workshop on palliative care was successfully organized jointly by the District Health Department, Patiala and Kensupport. This training was conducted at Nursing School Mata Kushallya from September 23 to 25. Medical officers and staff nurses of the district participated in it.

This training was conducted at Nursing School Mata Kushallya from September 23 to 25. Medical officers and staff nurses of the district participated in it.
The main objective of the training was to teach the health staff new techniques, pain management, psychological support and sensitive communication skills regarding the care of patients suffering from serious and incurable diseases.
Kensupport Advisor NDPS Dr. Ravinder Mohan apprised the participants about the importance of home palliative services and also explained how psychological support is very important for the patients and their family members. Practical sessions were also conducted during this workshop where the participants got first-hand experience of palliative care techniques.
They were explained through case studies how sensitivity, timely support and pain management can improve the quality of life of the patient. Civil Surgeon Patiala Dr. Jagpalinder Singh said during the closing ceremony that such trainings will enhance the quality of health services and palliative care services will further improve.
He expressed special gratitude to the Consupport team, health department officials and all the participants and hoped that such programs will continue in the future as well. Medical Superintendent Mata Kushallya Hospital Dr. Sanjay Kamra, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Vikas Goyal and the entire team of Mass Media Wing were present on this mock event.
