Nawanshahr- Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh appealed to the farmers and said that proper management of crop residues should be ensured without burning them in the fields, for which the district administration has also set up a control room for the convenience of the farmers. The Deputy Commissioner said that the farmers of the district can get the necessary information about the management of stubble in the fields through the control room.
He said that the teams of the Agriculture Department are continuously conducting awareness activities for in-situ and ex-situ management of stubble, which should be taken full advantage of. He said that the purpose of setting up the control room is to ensure proper management of stubble. He said that the control room will keep a close eye on the cases of stubble burning in coordination with the teams of different blocks.
The Deputy Commissioner said that information about cases of stubble burning in the fields can also be given to the control room so that appropriate action can be taken immediately by coordinating with the concerned authorities.
