Una, September 23 - Mahendra Pal Gurjar, Chairman and Executive Deputy Commissioner of the District Disaster Management and Authority, Una, has issued orders strictly prohibiting unauthorized excavation/excavation work being carried out without permission within the Una Municipal Corporation jurisdiction. He stated that irregular excavation is repeatedly disrupting water supply, sewerage, electricity, optical fiber networks, and other underground services, potentially impacting public safety and disaster management efforts.

He stated that irregular excavation is repeatedly disrupting water supply, sewerage, electricity, optical fiber networks, and other underground services, potentially impacting public safety and disaster management efforts.
According to the orders, no person, contractor, agency, or department will undertake any type of excavation, boring, trenching, or excavation work within the Una Municipal Corporation jurisdiction without obtaining prior written permission from the Municipal Corporation Commissioner.
Before commencing any activity, it is mandatory to contact the Una Municipal Commissioner's office under the "Call Before You Dig" instructions. The SDM, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters Una), Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Executive Magistrate and Municipal Corporation officials will ensure strict compliance of these orders.
The Deputy Commissioner has appealed to the people, departments and contractors to follow the rules so that essential services are not disrupted and any loss of life or damage can be avoided. He said that strict action will be taken against any person or organization violating the orders under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other applicable provisions.
