Hoshiarpur- On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur today visited Nasrala Grain Market and reviewed the arrangements made there. During the inspection, the SDM closely inspected the arrival of paddy in the market, procurement arrangements and facilities for the workers.
She spoke to the workers and asked about their living and food arrangements. She said that all the workers have Aadhaar cards. She said that the moisture content of the paddy is being checked in the market and farmers are bringing only crops with less than 17 percent moisture as per the prescribed standards.
This ensures a transparent and smooth procurement process. The SDM directed the procurement agencies and officials in the market to ensure that the farmers and workers do not face any inconvenience. He also asked the officials to ensure cleanliness, drinking water, toilets and other basic amenities in the markets.
He appealed to the farmers to follow the norms set by the government for procurement of paddy and bring paddy with the specified moisture content, so that there is no delay or problem in the procurement process.
