
Every family will get free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh: Chief Minister Hon.
Chandigarh:- The Punjab government is going to launch its health insurance scheme on Tuesday, under which free health treatment up to Rs 10 lakh per family will be ensured. This scheme is being launched first in Tarn Taran and Barnala districts. Where 128-128 camps will be set up in both the districts from tomorrow.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said, “People will have to submit their voter ID card, Aadhaar card and passport copies along with the registration form, so that they can be eligible for free health insurance. Health cards will be issued to them.”
The Chief Minister said that while all government health institutions are already included in this scheme, about 500 private hospitals have also been listed and they will provide free cashless insurance to those who join the scheme.
Mann said, “Irrespective of the number of people in the family seeking treatment in a year, each family can get free treatment for 2,000 diseases worth up to Rs 10 lakh.” Mann also announced that he is going to increase the number of Aam Aadmi clinics from the current 881 to 1,000.
