Chandigarh, September 22 - The Haryana Government has decided to celebrate September 23 as Haryana Veer and Martyrdom Day in the state. On this occasion, public meetings, ceremonies, seminars etc. will be organized in all districts to pay tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.
Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi has directed all the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners in a letter to them that the families of the martyrs and those who received the war gallantry awards should be honored with commemorative medals in the program. Freedom fighters and Kargil war warriors should also be respectfully invited in the ceremony.
