
Cancer Screening Camp Held at GMCH-32 as Part of the "Healthy Women Empowered Family" Campaign
Chandigarh: A cancer screening camp was organized at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, under the "Healthy Women Empowered Family" campaign. The campaign, which runs until October 2, 2025, is part of a broader national effort to promote women's health and nutrition to strengthen family and community health outcomes.

The camp provided screening for oral cancer and breast cancer, as well as routine screenings for hypertension, diabetes, obesity, lifestyle and dietary counseling. Free registration was also provided for all beneficiaries.
Dr. G.P. Thami, Director-Principal of GMCH-32, observed the activities along with Dr. Sonia Puri, Associate Professor and Nodal Officer of the program. Both highlighted the importance of preventive health care and encouraged women to actively participate in regular health checkups. Women of various age groups enthusiastically participated in the event. The "Healthy Women, Empowered Families" campaign underscores the organization's commitment to women's empowerment through improved health awareness and services.
