Una, 7 August- A one day training workshop on 'Role of First Aid and First Responder in Disaster Management' was organized in the conference room of Regional Hospital Una on Thursday in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority Una, 108 and 102 Ambulance Service and Dumkaind Medswan Foundation, Solan.

Una, 7 August- A one day training workshop on 'Role of First Aid and First Responder in Disaster Management' was organized in the conference room of Regional Hospital Una on Thursday in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority Una, 108 and 102 Ambulance Service and Dumkaind Medswan Foundation, Solan.
This workshop was chaired by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. S.K. Verma. About 50 participants from various government departments and non-government organizations of the district actively participated in the training.
Dr. Verma said that the main objective of this training camp is to enable departmental representatives to provide first aid and first response in case of emergency and disaster, so that necessary steps can be taken immediately before medical assistance arrives and loss of life and property can be minimized.
In the training workshop, detailed information was given on CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) techniques, measures to stop bleeding, quick first aid in emergency situations like bone fracture, unconsciousness, burns, snake bite, choking, and measures to deal with other disaster situations.
During the training, expert trainers of 108 Ambulance Service and Dumkaand Foundation motivated the participants for active participation by live demonstration of various first aid techniques through practical sessions.
On the occasion of the closing of the workshop, CMO Dr. S.K. Verma honored all the participants by giving them training certificates and motivated them to play an effective role in future disaster situations.
On this occasion, District Nodal Officer of NSS Prof. Lilly Thakur, Training Coordinator of Disaster Management Authority Rajan, Rishi Chandel of Dumkaand Foundation and other dignitaries were present.
