
More big politicians and officials will be caught in drug smuggling case: Chief Minister.
Chandigarh, June 26 – Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today termed the arrest of senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia as correct and hinted that more big politicians and officials will be caught in drug smuggling cases in the coming days. He said that no political leader or official involved in the drug trade in Punjab will be spared. Strict action will be taken against all of them. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed this while talking to reporters at his official residence in Chandigarh.

The Chief Minister said that the opposition leaders earlier used to say that the ‘big crocodiles’ are not being caught in drug smuggling cases and now that the Punjab government has caught them, the opposition has turned on itself and said that the government has taken the wrong action. He said that the opposition leaders have also been exposed in this matter. This shows that all the political leaders are in cahoots.
The Chief Minister said that the ‘war on drugs’ was started by catching local drug peddlers and now the generals are being caught. He said that 80 to 90 percent of the drug peddlers caught so far have not been granted bail. He also made it clear that no mercy will be shown to drug peddlers nor will any recommendation be heeded. He said that he is accountable to the Punjabis.
The Chief Minister said that those who build a stable house in people’s homes will not be spared. The Chief Minister said that this time the Punjab government has taken firm action. During this, evidence of cash transfer of crores of rupees through hawala has also been found, which is being investigated. Mr. Mann said that currently in Punjab, there is a situation like Aam Aadmi Party vs. all political parties.
However, today was the first time that the Chief Minister targeted Bikram Singh Majithia during a press conference without mentioning his name. He said that people are getting calls from Punjab due to the capture of a big crocodile. The Chief Minister said that resolutions are now being passed by the Panchayats that they will not grant bail to any drug smuggler.
