S.A.S. Nagar, June 10- A case of cheating mechanics of the local Phase 7 Scooter Market in a unique way has come to light. An unknown person pasted his scanner on the online payment scanners of the mechanics in the Scooter Market and transferred the amount paid to the mechanics by the customers through the scanner to his account.
Shri Gurvinder Singh Sohal, President of Scooter Market, said that the mechanics working in the market have pasted their account scanners (Paytm, Google Pay, Bharat Pay etc.) on the pillars of the booths in the market, and on the previous day someone came at night and pasted his scanner on these scanners and went away.
He said that when the market opened in the morning, after work, when the customers paid online to a mechanic through the scanner, the mechanic told that the money did not come. Meanwhile, the same thing happened with another mechanic, and when the scanner was examined, it was found that another scanner was pasted on the original scanner, and the amount paid by the customers had gone into someone else's account.
He said that since the matter was detected early, a big loss was averted, but a mechanic named Mani Singh lost Rs 300 and Rajesh Kumar lost Rs 500.
He said that the mechanics also found out at their level the name and phone number of the person with the scanner who received the payment amount, but when contacted, that person denied it. He said that now a written complaint is being given to the police in this regard so that this thug who cheated the mechanics can be traced and action can be taken against him.
