Lawrence Bishnoi gang member arrested in encounter near Malout.

Muktsar, May 18 – Muktsar police have claimed to have arrested a member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang in a brief encounter near Malout town. During the encounter, the accused was shot in the leg and has been admitted to the Malout Civil Hospital. Two pistols, two live cartridges and some empty shells have been recovered from the accused.

Muktsar DSP (D) Ramanpreet Singh Gill said that last night during regular patrolling and investigation, the CIA Malout team tried to stop a biker coming on a motorcycle on Abohar Road on the outskirts of Malout town. The DSP said, “On seeing the police, the suspect on the bike tried to flee. When the police chased him, he opened fire. 
In the retaliatory firing by the police, the accused was shot in the leg. He was immediately taken into custody and brought to the Civil Hospital in Malout for treatment. The accused has been identified as Abhishek, a resident of village Seeto Gunno in Fazilka district. The DSP said, "He is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and works as an arms supplier. In the past, two cases of robbery were registered against him in Haryana."
