Patiala- In the world, volunteers are prepared by the Red Cross to save humanity and soldiers in times of crisis, who are making commendable efforts to save wounded or imprisoned soldiers and suffering humanity during wars, epidemics and natural or human disasters, whereas before the Red Cross, there was no organization in the world to save victims during wars, epidemics and disasters.

These views were expressed by Mr. Dharamvir Garg and Ishwar Bansal, former Governor of Rotary International, while welcoming and thanking Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, retired Training Supervisor Red Cross and Punjab Police Officer Ram Saran on the occasion of Red Cross Day at Sanskar Valley Smart School.
Kaka Ram Verma thanked the school management and said that good institutions organize such programs to connect their students, teachers and through them, parents with good morals, etiquette, duties and humanitarian principles. The International Red Cross has appealed to keep humanity alive in the hearts.
He gave information about Bhai Ghanaiya ji, Nobel Peace Prize winner Sir Jean Henry Dunant and the history of the International Red Cross Society, Geneva Conventions, First Aid, CPR, Home Nursing training, and the importance of humanity in the hearts, minds, feelings, thoughts and habits of children and youth through Junior Red Cross activities.
He explained the importance of training exercises mock drills on first aid, CPR, fire safety, use of cylinders and saving victims from death. Police Officer Ram Saran gave information about the destruction of children and youth due to drugs, crimes, traffic accidents and bad companions and encouraged them to avoid them. He gave information about the numbers used for police, fire brigade, ambulance and cyber security.
Principal Mrs. Aman Nijjar while expressing gratitude said that in today's time, by running Red Cross activities in educational institutions, children can be instilled with the qualities of love, compassion, patience, peace, humility, tolerance, discipline, knowledge, thoughts, feelings, habits and rituals to save humanity, environment, animals, birds, water, air, home and families. She appreciated the humanitarian efforts being done by Kaka Ram Verma for the last 45 years.
