
Vet Varsity imparts Training on value addition of milk products
Ludhiana 21 April 2025- Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana organized training-cum-demonstration camp on value addition of milk and packaging of milk products at Hamidi village under Farmer FIRST Project. Project is sponsored by ICAR. The camp was organized under the guidance of Dr. R S Grewal, Director of Extension Education, and Dr. Parminder Singh, Principal Investigator (PI) of the Project.

Dr. Gopika Talwar, Co-PI and Dr. Gurpreet Kour Tulla organized the event and conducted the hands-on training program on value addition of milk and packaging of milk products. Mr. Jasvir Singh of Hamidi village was trained for manufacturing ghee, paneer and curd. It is pertinent to mention that Mr. Jasvir Singh has also taken hands-on training from College of Dairy and Food Science Technology of the University which was conducted.
Dr. Gopika Talwar demonstrated the use of various machines including cup sealer and paddle sealer for packaging. She also deliberated on the site selection and construction parameters for the milk processing facility. She stated that Mr. Jasvir Singh has already been registered with FSSAI and has started producing curd and paneer. In the camp, he was trained for scaling-up the production of products to meet the demand and augment farm income.
