Channi Cultural Forum organized a grand event under the banner of "Jis Ghar Dhian, Us Ghar Teeya"

Chandigarh, August 1- Under the banner of "Jis Ghar Dhiyaan, Us Ghar Teeyaan" (Where there are daughters, there are festivals), a splendid event was organized with great enthusiasm by the Channi Cultural Forum (Registered), led by its president, Sardar Swaran Singh Channi, on the previous day at the Sector 42 Lake in Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, August 1- Under the banner of "Jis Ghar Dhiyaan, Us Ghar Teeyaan" (Where there are daughters, there are festivals), a splendid event was organized with great enthusiasm by the Channi Cultural Forum (Registered), led by its president, Sardar Swaran Singh Channi, on the previous day at the Sector 42 Lake in Chandigarh. The event was brought to life with the support of the team members, including Roshan Singh Ji, Shamsher Singh, Tajinder Singh Dhaliwal, Master Balvir Singh Ji, Ravinder Sharma, Jagtar Singh Ji, Mohit Kumar, Dholi Fakeer Chand, Raju, Kabir Khosla, Chandar Lata, and others, who extended their full cooperation. The president of the Punjabi Kala Kendra, Sardar Balkar Singh Sidhu Ji, also provided complete support.
The chief guests of the program were Hardeep Singh (Municipal Councillor, Chandigarh) and Jasvir Singh Bunty (Senior Deputy Mayor), who graced the occasion with their presence. They shed light on the significance of daughters and festivals, addressing the issue of female foeticide. M.C. Harjit Singh (Mohali) specially attended the event. The program commenced with a devotional song by Jagjit Singh Badali. Subsequently, Gurvinder Singh and Garry Mannat Bajwa Ji kicked off the event with songs dedicated to the festival of Teej, transforming the atmosphere. Aasmeen Kaur, Simranjeet Kaur, Amrit Kaur, and Amanjot Kaur enthralled the audience with their Teej songs, adding vibrancy to the event.
The program began with women performing the traditional Jaago procession around the lake, singing boli (folk couplets) that compelled everyone to dance. The women’s jhummar dance, choreographed by Swaran Singh Channi, was a major attraction for all. The men’s luddi dance was presented in a highly impressive manner. Additionally, the birthdays of international dholi Jasvir Singh Mika, Madam Babita, and a young girl, Myra, were celebrated with cake-cutting, sharing moments of joy.
The president of the forum honored Jasvir Singh Bunty (Senior Deputy Mayor) and Hardeep Singh (M.C. Batela) by presenting them with siropas (ceremonial scarves). Other notable personalities honored included Ramesh Barma Ji, Sardar Sukhdev Singh Ji (Inspector), Jagjit Singh Badali, Sharanjeet Kaur, Jasvir Kaur, Balwinder Singh, Harjit Singh Bholu (M.C.), Ranjit Singh Rana, Parminder Singh Pairi, Arvinder Kaur, Sonu, Gurvinder Garry, Mannat Bajwa, Rakhi Supermanium, Sarbjit Singh (A.R.T.O.), Sarbjit Kaur Dhillon, Sukhbir Kaur, Usha Chawla, and others. Additionally, Sardar Jagdev Singh Lucky, Kulsi, Amrit Pal Singh, and Narinder Pal Singh Chhina were specially honored.
The stage proceedings were skillfully managed by Master Balvir Singh Ji and Sardar Balkar Singh Ji Sidhu. Special arrangements were made for women to enjoy swinging (peengha jhuttna). The program concluded with a langar (community meal) of kheer and puri. Swaran Singh Channi promised to continue organizing such events in the future.
