
Para legal volunteers were given online training.
Hoshiarpur- On the orders of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Dilbag Singh Johal, CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Raj Pal Rawal gave online training to para legal volunteers working at district level and sub-division level about making Aadhar card, voter card, old age pension, PAN card, ration card and blue card. This training was given by Pradeep Kumar, data entry operator of Facilitation Center with the cooperation of Deputy Commissioner.

This training was given by Pradeep Kumar, data entry operator of Facilitation Center with the cooperation of Deputy Commissioner. The main objective of this training was to make the villagers coming to the legal aid clinics opened in the villages aware about making the above mentioned certificates. Apart from this, Secretary District Legal Services Authority told the para legal volunteers that front offices have been opened at all district and sub-division levels of Punjab.
If a person wants to file a case in the court regarding his problem, then free legal aid is provided by the authority under the eight categories given in the Free Legal Services Authority Act, 1987, which includes categories such as women, children below 18 years of age, prisoners, victims of natural disasters such as floods/earthquakes/destitute, mentally ill, industrial workers, Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, transgenders and every person whose annual income is less than Rs 3 lakh.
The lawyer appointed to plead the case of the person who is provided free legal aid by the authority is paid litigation fees, court fees and witness expenses and other miscellaneous expenses by the authority. Also, giving detailed information about NALSA (Legal Services for Mentally Ill Persons and Intellectually Disabled Persons) Scheme, 2024 and NALSA (Child Friendly Legal Services for Children) Scheme, 2024, it was told that legal services are also provided to children by the authority under this scheme.
