Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today (Saturday) inspected Kangra Maidan in Haroli regarding the preparations for this three-day festival to be held from 27 to 29 April. During this, he also inspected the proposed procession route from Prof. Simmi Agnihotri PG College, Haroli to Kangra Maidan. The Deputy Chief Minister gave necessary instructions to the concerned departments.

*Governor will inaugurate, grand procession will be organized*
The festival will be inaugurated by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on April 27 at 5 pm. He will inaugurate the function organized at Kangra Maidan after leading the grand procession.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri will be the chief guest at the mid-day festival on April 28, while the closing ceremony will be held on April 29 in the dignified presence of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.

*Emphasis on the message of de-addiction*
It is worth noting that this year the theme of the festival has been decided as "drug prevention". Under this, the message of "drug free Una - drug free Himachal" will be conveyed to the people. Representatives of self-help groups, school students, cultural groups and various institutions will participate in the procession and will give the message of "no to drugs, yes to life".

*Confluence of art and culture*
Grand cultural evenings will be organized on all three days of the festival, adorned with the performances of local and Himachali artists as well as artists from the country and abroad. On April 27, Punjabi singer Mankirat Aulakh, Himachali singer Kumar Sahil and Arshpreet will captivate the audience with their tunes. On April 28, Indian Idol fame Nitin Kumar, Anuj Sharma and famous singer AC Bhardwaj will mesmerize the audience with their performances.
On the occasion of the closing ceremony on April 29, star Punjabi singers Garry Sandhu and Jasbir Jassi will give their special performances.
Apart from this, international performances like African dance, Russian fire dance and Ukrainian drum band will also be the center of attraction for the audience.

Sports, entertainment and development exhibition
Traditional sports competitions like Chhinj, wrestling, Kabaddi, tug of war and Matka race will also be organized during the festival. Along with this, interesting competitions will be organized for Mahila Mandals, Yuvak Mandals, schools and various institutions. Development exhibition of departments and stalls of self-help groups will also add to the beauty of the festival.
It is worth mentioning that after a long gap of seven years, this grand event is being made possible due to the efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. This festival is dedicated to the preservation of culture, traditions and social awareness of Haroli region.
