Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, while taking information about the preparations for the various activities to be held during the five-day Nature Fest, said that the festival will begin with bird watching at Pong Dam on February 21 and in the evening Punjabi singer Alaap Sikandar will entertain the audience with his singing at the Lajwanti Sports Stadium. He said that proper arrangements should be made to run this event smoothly and make it memorable and the concerned departments should complete the necessary preparations in time.
The Deputy Commissioner said that various activities will continue on the second day as well, which include night camping at Solis and Throli and cyclothon at Lajwanti Stadium, Kids Carnival at Van Chetna Park and screening of India vs Pakistan match at the stadium on February 23.
Talking about off-roading, he said that there will be off-roading at Cooknet, in which necessary arrangements are being made for the convenience of the participants. People will enjoy boating and jungle safari at Nature Retreat located at Chauhal. He said that on the evening of February 25, singer Kanwar Grewal will showcase his talent, after which the Nature Fest will conclude.
Inviting people to participate enthusiastically in the Nature Fest, the Deputy Commissioner said that the administration has created a website naturefestsp.com to give information about the fest to the people and a helpline number 90565-68870 has also been issued.
