
Theft from Nagarkheda temple's donation box, questions raised on police's working

Chandigarh. Thieves targeted Nagarkheda temple in Palsora and looted the donation box. The entire incident was captured in CCTV camera installed in the temple.
According to the temple committee, the thieves entered the temple late at night and stole cash from the donation box and fled. In the morning, when the priest opened the temple, the donation box was found broken. The police was immediately informed about this incident, but no concrete action has been taken so far.
Police unsuccessful in controlling theft and drug abuse
Ward number 29 councillor Manuwar raised questions on the working of the police and said that theft and drug abuse are increasing in Sector 55/56 and surrounding areas, but the police are failing to control them. Local people also say that incidents of theft are happening every day in the area and drugs are being sold openly in public places.
Local residents and the temple committee have demanded strict action from the police administration, so that such incidents can be prevented in future. At present, the police is engaged in identifying the thieves on the basis of CCTV footage.
