Rangoli competitions were organized for the students under the theme 'Rangle Punjab' and 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' under the leadership of the fair's nodal officer ADC Anuprita Johal. The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that inter-college and inter-school cultural, folk arts and painting competitions dedicated to the rich heritage of India are being organized daily in the Saras Mela.
While inviting the people of Patiala to enjoy the Saras Mela being organized after many years in Patiala, he said that along with the sale and purchase of goods made by artisans and craftsmen from the country and abroad, folk dances of different states will also be seen in the Saras Mela.
In-charge of cultural programs, Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal and District Child Development and Welfare Officer Shaina Kapoor said that 145 students from 21 schools and colleges participated in the Rangoli competition today. In which the first place in the college category was won by Government ITI Girls Patiala and in the school category, Alliance International Public School Banur was won.
The second place was won by DAV Global School and Government High School Patiala Cantt and the third place was won by Senior Secondary Girls School Sanaur. The winning students were honored with medals by the Mela Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner.
