Screening for representatives of deaf and mute people's organization on the occasion of inauguration of 9th International Deaf Festival

Hoshiarpur- On the occasion of inauguration of 9th Indian International Deaf Festival, Punjabi film "Gold Medal Da Dahej" based on the heart touching story of a blind girl was screened in the auditorium of C.T. University among representatives of international organizations related to deaf and mute people. On this occasion, prominent social workers, political leaders Avinash Rai Khanna and Deepak Bali were specially present. Along with screening of the film in the auditorium connected with the best modern technologies of North India, the story was explained in the language of deaf and mute in a very good manner by sign language experts.

The audience, who spoke on behalf of the film's director Ashok Puri and artists Nancy Arora, Amrit Lal, Kamaljit Kaur, Renuka Rajput, Ramesh Kumar, playback singers Satish Silli Uppal, Ajay Sachdev and Gurmel Dhaliwal, got a unique experience by appreciating this story.
On this occasion, the film's story writer Avinash Rai Khanna expressed his gratitude to the organizers and discussed with the guests the problems and achievements of special people in their lives. He said that such efforts are the need of the hour to bring this neglected section of society into the mainstream.
After the screening, the organization honored all the artists along with story writer Avinash Rai Khanna and director Dr. Ashok Puri. On this occasion, director Ashok Puri said that while making this film based on a blind girl, while we came to know about the lives of blind people, today the problems of the deaf and dumb and the possibilities of a respectable life for them have been highlighted.
