Hoshiarpur- As per the directions of Hon'ble Deputy Commissioner cum Chairperson District Drug Deaddiction Rehabilitation Society Hoshiarpur Mrs. Komal Mittal, the help desk being set up by the Health Department for counseling and awareness at public places under Drug Free Punjab Mission Smile 2.0 was formally inaugurated by Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Harbans Kaur today at Sub-Divisional Magistrate Complex Hoshiarpur.
On this occasion, District Drug Deaddiction Rehabilitation Center Hoshiarpur Manager Mrs. Nisha Rani, District Superintendent Gurjinder Kaur, Chandan Soni Counselor OOAT Clinic Central Jail Hoshiarpur, Amit Kumar, Sandeep Kumari Counselor were present. Dr. Harbans Kaur said that this help desk has been started to make the general public aware about the ill effects of drug addiction and its treatment under public counseling and awareness campaign under Mission Smile 2.0.
During this period, about 99 people obtained information from this help desk. The main purpose of setting up this help desk is to make the general public aware about the ill effects of drug addiction so that the person suffering from drug addiction can be brought under the scope of treatment.
On this occasion, Nisha Rani, District Manager, said that in this program, Dr. Raj Kumar Psychiatrist, Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur and Dr. Mahima Minhas, Medical Officer, Hoshiarpur and their team are always engaged in this work like soldiers.
