Patiala, Jan 27- Vowing to give a befitting reply to the hostile forces in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann categorically stated that the designs to disrupt peace, communal harmony, unity and brotherhood will not be allowed to succeed at any cost.

Addressing the gathering after hoisting the national flag during the 76th Republic Day celebrations at the Polo Ground here, the Chief Minister said Punjab is the land of Gurus, Pirs-Prophets, Saints, Great Men and Martyrs who always lead humanity towards the great values ??of brotherhood and communal harmony. He said peace and tranquility had been established in the state after a lot of hard work and his government would not allow anyone to disturb the peace.
Bhagwant Singh Mann sought people’s support for this noble cause so that a befitting reply could be given to the enemies conspiring to derail the peace, progress and prosperity of the state. The Chief Minister slammed the divisive forces and said that their designs to create communal divide will not be allowed to succeed at any cost. He said that the roots of social harmony in Punjab are so deep and strong that anything can be grown on the fertile soil of the state but the seeds of hatred cannot grow here.
He said that this is indeed a proud moment for all of us as we have got the power to exercise the right to vote, which has given us an opportunity to fulfill the dream of our forefathers of a government 'of the people, for the people and by the people'. The Chief Minister said that during the last 75 years, democracy in the country has strengthened with each passing day as the countrymen have expressed unwavering faith in democratic values ??and have given a clear verdict by voting without any fear.
During this, the Chief Minister said that Indians, especially Punjabis, have bravely faced any threat to the sovereignty of the country, which they have earned with their hard work. Present on the occasion among others were Chief Minister's wife Dr Gurpreet Kaur, Divisional Commissioner Daljit Singh Mangat, Deputy Commissioner Patiala Dr Preeti Yadav, DIG Patiala Range Mandeep Singh Sidhu, SSP Patiala Dr Nanak Singh, several MLAs and other senior officials of Patiala district.
