
District level bank advisory and review meeting organized, ADC presided over

To benefit the farmers, he also asked to distribute Krishi Cards to maximum number of farmers, provide loans for agricultural implements and encourage promotion of small scale industries. Una, December 23- Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Una Mahendra Pal Gurjar directed the banks to achieve the targets set under the annual credit plan on time so that the economic needs of the people can be met. To benefit the farmers, he also asked to distribute Krishi Cards to maximum number of farmers, provide loans for agricultural implements and encourage promotion of small scale industries. The ADC said this while presiding over the district level bank advisory and review meeting.
Mahendra Pal Gurjar expressed satisfaction over the achievements of banks under the annual loan plan, but expressed concern over the low achievement of loan distribution in the primary sector. He directed all the banks to take necessary steps to increase the deposit-loan ratio and improve loan distribution in the primary sector.
He said that while following the targets and policies set by the government, banks should ensure that maximum number of people get the benefit of loan schemes, so that common people and entrepreneurs can benefit. He directed all the banks to approve loan applications on time under government sponsored schemes. Apart from this, he also stressed on taking appropriate steps for the fraud happening with customers in the banking system and taking necessary steps to make more and more customers aware and vigilant.
While reviewing the achievements of the banks against the targets in the second quarter, the ADC said that the banks of the district distributed loans worth Rs 1603.47 crore against the annual target of Rs 2398.70 crore by September 2024. The deposits of the banks have increased to Rs 14397.57 crore, which has increased at an annual rate of 11.82 percent, while the loan has increased at the rate of 11.16 percent to Rs 4396.40 crore. The loan deposit ratio of the district has increased to 30.54 percent in the year. The loan deposit ratio of the district is less than the national target of 60 percent. He directed the banks and government departments to make every effort to improve the loan deposit ratio of the banks.
He said that banks have distributed 69,315 Krishi cards to farmers till 30 September 2024 and banks have distributed 940 Krishi cards in the September quarter. The agricultural loan of banks is Rs 829.98 crore which is 19.13 percent of the total loans. He directed the banks to provide all possible help to improve the living standards of the people.
The meeting was attended by Chief District Lead Bank Manager Lahri Mal, Zila Parishad Chairperson Neelam Kumari, District Lead Officer Reserve Bank of India Rahul Joshi, RSETI Director Parul Virdi, Dr. Dinesh Bhardwaj from Animal Husbandry Department, Deputy Director Horticulture, Kishori Lal Verma, District Coordinators of various banks and government/non-government officials.
