A total of 43 Senior Punjab Good Governance Fellows are currently undergoing an Induction Programme under the Punjab Good Governance Fellowship Programme, scheduled from August 18 to 23, 2025. As part of this programme, the Fellows visited the Deputy Commissioner Office, SAS Nagar (Mohali), and the Municipal Corporation Mohali today.
The Deputy Commissioner explained in detail the functioning of the District Administration and highlighted the successful implementation of new initiatives in the Revenue Department, such as Easy Registry and Easy Jamabandi, which aim to provide citizens with uninterrupted and transparent services.
The Fellows also visited the Sub-Registrar Office, Farad Kendra, and Sewa Kendra, Mohali, where they interacted with officials and staff. They were also briefed about the Home Delivery of Citizen Services usually provided through Sewa Kendras, accessible by dialling the toll-free number 1076.
At the Municipal Corporation Mohali, the Fellows gained first-hand insights into the functioning of local bodies and the range of services delivered to citizens.
Emphasizing their role, DC Komal Mittal said that the Good Governance Fellows will help bridge the communication gap between the people and the state government by providing on-ground feedback on the implementation of decisions and schemes. This, she added, would ensure a robust and effective feedback mechanism benefitting the masses.
Also present during the visit were AC (G) Dr. Ankita Kansal, Naib Tehsildar Harjot Singh, and District Manager, Governance Reforms, Ramandeep Singh.
