On this occasion, PCCTU President Prof. Jaswinder Singh said that there is a lot of anger in the minds of college teachers due to the anti-student and anti-teacher higher education policies of the Punjab Government. He said that the entire process of implementing the seventh pay commission has been implemented, but despite this, teachers are not being paid salaries according to the increased pay scale. He said that such a policy of procrastination reflects the anti-education mentality of the government.
On this occasion, the unit secretary Dr. Rakesh Kumar said that the Punjab Government should also bring the posts with 75 percent grant in aid under 95 percent. The teachers present on the occasion raised slogans against the Punjab government and warned that if the government continues this type of dictatorial behavior towards the implementation of the 7th pay commission and other demands of the teachers, then a fierce struggle will be waged.
On this occasion, the teachers vowed to actively participate in the state level protest organized by PCCTU in Mohali on 31 January regarding the above demands. Among the teachers present on this occasion were the college's Vice Principal Professor Aradhana Duggal, Staff Secretary Professor Dev Kumar and all the teachers of the unit.
