Deputy Commissioner issued orders regarding cleaning of vacant plots.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 30 June 2025: District Magistrate Mrs. Komal Mittal issued the order saying that it has come to her notice that garbage, dirt and dirty water get accumulated in vacant plots owned/occupied by various persons at various places in the city, which gives rise to various types of harmful organisms which spread various types of diseases (like dengue, malaria, chikungunya etc.).

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 30 June 2025: District Magistrate Mrs. Komal Mittal issued the order saying that it has come to her notice that garbage, dirt and dirty water get accumulated in vacant plots owned/occupied by various persons at various places in the city, which gives rise to various types of harmful organisms which spread various types of diseases (like dengue, malaria, chikungunya etc.). 
Thus these diseases are a serious and life-threatening threat to the health of the city dwellers. In such a situation, it is necessary to clean these vacant plots to prevent the spread of these diseases.
Therefore, keeping in mind human health and the above facts, District Magistrate Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, exercising the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Act, 2023, has issued an order to ensure proper arrangements for the prevention of diseases caused by the accumulation of garbage, dirt and sewerage in vacant plots under private possession/ownership within the limits of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district.
In the order issued, he has said that the owners/occupiers of vacant plots in the city will ensure immediate cleaning of garbage heaps, dirt and stagnant rainwater in their vacant plots at their own level. 
It should be ensured that a concrete boundary wall or fencing is installed around the vacant plot under their ownership/possession so that garbage can be prevented from accumulating in the plot. 
This order has been passed unilaterally keeping in mind the current situation and is addressed to the general public. Fines and legal action will be taken against persons/institutions violating these orders. 
Apart from this, if the cleaning work of the plot is done by the Municipal Council/Panchayat, then the cleaning expenses should be recovered from the occupant/owner of the plot. These orders will remain in force from 27.06.2025 till further orders.
